Specific Analysis

Brake Bias

The only wheel locks during qualifying were on the front axle, on the FL wheel. The brake bias was 51.3 % (% front). We can reduce one click rearwards, which should decrease to 50.7-50.8%. For the driver, the number should be 48 bar of rear pressure when the front is at 50.

Brake Bias

Warm Up Procedure

The driver was weaving on cold/low pressure tires. On the first lap we had to add energy through longitudinal acceleration. Then, on the second lap he can start to weave. For long straights, he can hard brake twice without downshifts during braking. On short straights, he can drag the brake to keep building temperature.

Warm Up Procedure

Clutch Engaged

Avoid these low throttle applications. These can increase clutch temperature to a point of burning the clutch discs. On this exit, there was no alarm of high temperature, however, always try to apply at least 30% whenever possible. If you can't, try to leave a gap to the car ahead on the fast lane.

Another topic on this start. The driver remained 30 seconds with the car idling on 1st gear. Whenever the clutch is engaged, the alternator is not generating energy to recharge the battery. There wasn't a drop in tension, however, if the battery is more worn, a drop can happen. A good practice is only engaging 1st when the car is about to leave the garage.

Clutch Engaged

EGT Sensor Failure

This might be already fixed, but on last time at Buriram, the EGT (exhaust gas temperature) sensor from bank 2 (right side) was damaged and not recording properly. We can deactivate the alarm through recovery modes.

EGT Sensor Failure

Battery

On last event at Thailand, the battery wasn't at 13.8 – 14.2 Volts. This could be a reason to replace the battery or service the alternator. Oreca's support can give us a better advice, if this wasn't solved at Sepang.
